So
what's a demon? Demons are the beings that dominate the
Abyss, found within the realm of Infernia. There is a range
of characteristics that a demon can possess, but the usual
is being quite powerful, as they are made of stuff far stronger
than mortal tissue. Technically being immortal since they
do not die of old age or disease, they can only be destroyed
within the Abyss. However, while within the Abyss, demons
are much more powerful than if they leave their home.
Are
all demons really powerful? For the most part, no. The
average demon cannot compare to those who have trained in
their powers like many of the more powerful Nerima people
have. However, as demons age, they naturally become more powerful.
The energies that permeate the Abyss begin to seep into them
as they age, meaning they become more powerful as time passes.
Truly ancient demons are formidable foes for even the greatest
warriors, and the unprepared find themselves dead quickly.
Do
demons have transformations? Yes, some demons have transformations,
which will be discussed later. For the most part, demons hide
their true power by staying within weaker forms. However,
as they age and accumulate more power, they must change into
more monstrous forms to fully utilize the power they have
gained.
Innate
Powers
Demons
possess a large variety of natural powers. Being, as they
are, creatures of darkness and evil, they have a natural affinity
towards destruction. On comparison with something of an equal
power level, a demon will be stronger, faster, and more durable
than the other person. Demons possess greater physical stature,
and do not use up their power quickly in battle.
Elemental
Affinity: Demons will almost always have a natural affinity
towards one of the natural elements. While this is usually
related to fire as fire's well-known throughout history to
be a great destroyer, other elements are just as likely to
be found within a demon's range of powers.
Ki
Manipulation: Personal life energy. It can be used to
fly, and as a source to channel large energy attacks. Every
person has a capacity of Ki, when their bodies are filled
it's considered their maximum power level. Increasing Ki will
increase stamina, endurance, strength, concentration of energy,
and range of sensory granted by having Ki. Due to the admixture
of energies of the Abyss and a demon's own life energy, demons
lose very little energy while fighting. As such, while their
foes find themselves winded after a few encounters, a demon
will still be ready to go and battle onward.
Special
Limitations or Weaknesses
Elemental
Weakness: Demons are especially weak against the opposite
element of which they possess. In the case of demons that
have an affinity towards fire, the elements of cold or water
are known to cause them the most harm. However, they also
know this and will usually take steps to ensure they are not
as vulnerable to the opposite element.
Transformations
Stage
1
Increase: 0% of base (Strength 0%, Speed 0%, Endurance
0%)
Example Power Level: 250,000
Requirements: None
Physical Change: None
The base form of a demon, it is the one that it uses the most.
In the case of most demons, this is the only form in which
you will find them. They will appear the most humanoid, with
perhaps a few minor variations amongst them.
Stage
2
Increase: 200% of previous stage (Strength 200%, Speed
200%, Endurance 200%)
Example Power Level: 750,000
Requirements: Staying alive for 500 years
Physical Change: Size increase, more monstrous appearance
The second stage of transformation comes about when the demon
reaches an age of around 500 years. The demon has been alive
long enough, and has been in the Abyss long enough, for the
admixture of energies within it to allow it to reach a new
level of power.
Stage
3
Increase: 300% of previous stage (Strength 300%, Speed
300%, Endurance 300%)
Example Power Level: 3,500,000
Requirements: Staying alive for 1000 years
Physical Change: Size increase, more monstrous appearance
The third stage of transformation comes about when the demon
reaches an age of around 1000 years. The demon has been alive
long enough, and has been in the Abyss long enough, for the
admixture of energies within it to allow it to reach a new
level of power.
Stage
4
Increase: 300% of previous stage (Strength 300%, Speed
300%, Endurance 300%)
Example Power Level: 14,000,000
Requirements: Staying alive for 2000 years
Physical Change: Size increase, more monstrous appearance
The fourth stage of transformation comes about when the demon
reaches an age of around 2000 years. The demon has been alive
long enough, and has been in the Abyss long enough, for the
admixture of energies within it to allow it to reach a new
level of power.
Stage
5
Increase: 500% (Strength 500%, Speed 500%, Endurance
500%)
Example Power Level: 84,000,000
Requirements: Staying alive for over 5000 years
Physical Change: Varies from demon to demon
The pinnacle of the demon's capabilities to transform, this
stage of power is known to be referred to, amongst the demons,
as the Demon Lord. Few are capable of reaching this stage
of power, for many die before they gain the right to claim
it. However, those few who do claim this power are feared,
and rarely interact outside of the Abyss, for they instead
seek to hold dominion over the entire Abyss.
