Respect
in Nerima (AKA The Big OOC Rule)
Respect in Nerima is something that needs to be stated as
a rule. Plenty take advantage of it and decide to demean and
belittle people simply because they care for a player's personal
life and hold idiotic grudges which ruin the basis of the
game. Everyone deserves a sense of respect, and within the
following guidelines/rules (take your pick; respect shouldn't
be made a rule, its common sense for Christs sakes </rant>).
To maintain structure, to remain society, it all revolves
around these simple rules, and things can only get better
after this.
A)
Respect the realm your Role-play in. Don't you hate it when
you're in the middle of a decent session, and someone walks
in, a -known- player of a realm and begin to talk random crap
about how "(realm name) is crappy, I think (other realm
name) is better"? That tends to upset people, and that's
just asking for an argument. If you have bitter resentments
for the realm and in good reason (i.e. the hierarchy, the
rules, not the players or the rules), then write up a formal
complaint on the message board where someone can see it. If
that doesn't satisfy you, then just leave the realm gracefully
and no one will think any worse of you.
B)
Respect the people of Nerima. You don't have to hold some
form of respect towards the characters which are portrayed
in Nerima, but the person behind it deserves a hint of respect
from you. It's a matter of decency, if a person has done you
wrong; leave it out of the chat rooms while those are role-playing.
No one cares to hear of your squabble with person x while
they're RPing out a scene of their liking. Again, save it
for the message boards. More appropriately, use the flame
board where your comments can be well-received by your peers.
It will be -only- tolerated there and only there for now on.
C)
Respect the Staff of Nerima. This includes those who worked
on the FAQs which you read to understand the game, those who
put together the site, those who administrate the boards and
even those who moderate an open Nerima session. Some particularly
have their own guidelines to administrate these rules out
to the players of Nerima and would like them to be followed.
Usually these are addressed such as "No OOC or thought
bubbles please". If you have something to particularly
address to them in general, use the message board, write an
e-mail or simply ask if it is an appropriate time to get information
from them.
